Sunday, July 4th, Part I: Singapore Botanic Gardens

On Sunday the 4th, a group of us went to the Singapore Botanic Gardens for a relaxing day of meandering and exploring! It's a pretty standard garden, and, to be honest, I've been to better ones. But it's quite large and quite nice, and we had a grand old time wandering around!

This statue was called, "Joy"
Abby is silly :-)
Playing on the crazy tree, whereby it is on the back of the S$5 bill!
Group shot on the crazy tree!
Group shot with our new Singaporean friends on the crazy tree, whereby one of the guys gave Taylor a flower and we therefore asked them to take a picture for us :-)
This statue was titled, "Girl with Hammock." Singaporeans are so good at naming things! Hah. In fact (story time!), when the zoo was first built a few years ago, the government put tons of money into running a contest to come up with a name for it. Guess what it's called? The Singapore Zoo.
The "big-ass" tree :-) It is quite huge.
Beautiful gazebo!
Carve your name in a cactus!
Awkward cactus family picture :-)
A waterfall, whereby you could go behind it and take pictures!
Whitney and Kristine jumping so Abby could take a picture of them from behind the waterfall. They looked soooo silly :-P
Onward to the National Orchid Garden!
A lovely fountain
There were areas with little signs next to them saying, "Photo Spot." As if you couldn't have made that decision on your own!
The COOL House! It was so cool...in both senses :-)
What a neat tree!
Polka-dot leaves!
While walking, we heard music wafting through the air! We wound our way to this amphitheater and listened to the Chinese Orchestra warming up for a free concert in the garden!
We really did not want to leave the orchestra, but we had to go somewhere for school (see next post).
Just chillin with Chopin!
Oh yeah, trendy French sign!
